2013 - Jonathan Huberdeau was named NHL’s Rookie of the Month. He recorded nine points (6-3-9) in 13 games leading all rookies in goal scoring with six goals.

- Panthers captain Scott Mellanby plays in his 1000th NHL game. He leads the Cats by scoring the opening goal in Florida's 3-1 home victory over Toronto.

Roberto Luongo

2008 - Craig Anderson sets a modern day NHL record by stopping 53 shots in a 1-0 shutout, the most saves ever recorded in an NHL shutout.

2004 - Roberto Luongo makes 29 saves to record his seventh shut-out of the season, a new Panthers record.

Pavel Bure

2007 - GM/Head Coach Jacques Martin coaches in his 1,000th career NHL game against Tampa Bay.

2000 - Right Wing Pavel Bure’s assist sets a new club record for points in a season (71), as the Panthers fall 4-2 at NY Rangers.

1999 - Four games after returning from a strained right knee, Pavel Bure nets a hat trick on his first three shots against the Colorado Avalanche. But Bure is forced to leave the game when he re-injures his knee and the Cats blow a 5-0 lead by allowing seven unanswered goals. Peter Forsberg scores three goals and adds three assists as Colorado wins 7-5. Bure is out for the season, after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on March 5 and additional surgery on March 29 in Birmingham, Alabama, to repair an anterior cruciate ligament.


2008 - The Panthers and Craig Anderson set an NHL record by recording their second consecutive shutout and his 93 combined saves in two games sets an NHL record.


2013 - Jonathan Huberdeau became the first Panther to score on two penalty shots in a season, and the first rookie to do so since David Vyborny (2000-01). Jacob Markstrom won his first career home game with a 4-1 victory vs. Winnipeg. He faced 31 shots (30 saves), posting a .968 SV%.


2007 - Stephen Weiss becomes the youngest Panther in franchise history to wear the "A" on his sweater when he takes the ice in Atlanta.


2009 - With his hat trick in Florida's 5-3 win against the St. Louis Blues, David Booth became the fourth Panthers player to record two hat tricks in a season.


- The Panthers register the 500th victory in franchise history in a 3-2 shootout victory over Minnesota. They also set a new franchise record by holding the Wild to a low of 11 shots in the game. The previous low was 12 against Los Angeles on October 28, 1997.


2000 - The Panthers claim center Len Barrie off waivers from Los Angeles. Barrie, who played two games for the Cats during their inaugural season in 1993-94, becomes the third Panther ever and second this season to return to play for the Cats.

Scott Mellanby

2012 - After a 2-0 victory against the Hurricanes, the Panthers stand atop the Southeast Division at the latest point in franchise history. The previous best was March 10th, 2000.

- Scott Mellanby plays in his 500th game as a Panther, recording an assist in a 5-2 home loss to Chicago.

2001 - The Panthers are active at the trade deadline, swapping Ray Whitney to Columbus for Kevyn Adams, and getting draft picks for Mike Sillinger and Todd Simpson.


2008 - Florida ties two franchise records by recording their seventh consecutive victory and fifth consecutive home victory in a 3-1 win over Atlanta.


2007Olli Jokinen records a franchise record six points (2-4-6) in one game in an 8-5 win over the NY Islanders.


2002 - The Pavel Bure era ends in South Florida, as the right wing is traded to the New York Rangers for Filip Novak, Igor Ulanov and draft picks.

2000 - Pavel Bure sets franchise records with his fourth hat trick of the season and sixth as a Panther in a 4-2 victory over the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

Olli Jokinen

2010 - The Panthers unveil their new Den Of Honor prior to a game against the Buffalo Sabres. The Den of Honor commemorates key figures and events in team history as well as the growth of youth and high school hockey in South Florida. Notable Panthers alumni including Brian Skrudland, Scott Mellanby, Bill Lindsay and Paul Laus appear at the Den’s opening.

2006 - Olli Jokinen scores his fourth overtime goal of the year, tying the NHL single-season record since the five-minute overtime period was adopted.


2010 - Stephen Weiss scores his 100th NHL goal in a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.


2007 - Chris Gratton plays in his 1,000th career NHL game against Ottawa.

1997 - The Panthers celebrate their 50th consecutive sellout at Miami Arena.


2012 - Defenseman Jason Garrison sets a franchise record for goals by a blueliner with his 16th against Edmonton.


1998 - The Panthers send Tom Fitzgerald to Colorado and Ray Sheppard to Carolina as General Manager Bryan Murray stays active at the trade deadline.

2000 - The Office Depot Center sees a National Hockey League record fall as Pavel Bure scores a goal... Bure's tally breaks the NHL mark for goals by a brother combination in one season (89) topping the record set by Bobby and Dennis Hull in 1968-69. Pavel and his brother Valeri would combine for 93 goals on the season. The Cats beat Montreal 4-2.


2007 - Ed Belfour sets a new Panthers record, playing in his 27th consecutive game in net.

2003 - Chris Overholt is named Panthers Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Business Operations.


2009 - Cory Stillman record his 250th career NHL goal and Radek Dvorak records his 500th career point with an assist at Dallas.

John Vanbiesbrouck
1994 - The Panthers tie New Jersey, 3-3, as they record their 74th point of the season, the most ever by a first-year team. Goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck is named the NHL’s “Player of the Week” for the period ending March 21. He went 3-0-1, with a 2.20 GAA and a .940 save percentage.
