It takes a lot of dedication and desire to lead a group of 22 other professionals into battle on the ice for 82-plus games a year.

And in the 20 seasons that the Florida Panthers have been a part of the NHL, only seven men can proudly say that they have led that charge.

What makes it that much more special for those select few is that for three of those seasons (2002-03, 2008-09 and 2011-12), the team went without naming a leader and another had a split captaincy (2001-02).
