2004 - The NHL announces that Roberto Luongo is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy.

2002 - The NHL announces that Panthers left wing Kristian Huselius is a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy.


2009 - Panthers announce the restructuring of the hockey club's broadcast teams. Steve Goldstein will continue the television play-by-play with Bill Lindsay joining him as color analyst. Randy Moller will continue calling the Panthers radio broadcasts on 790 The Ticket.

2002 - The American Hockey League approves the purchase of an AHL franchise by the Panthers and San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. The team, named the Rampage, will play at San Antonio's new SBC Arena.


2002 - Rick Dudley is named Panthers General Manager.

2006 - The Panthers host the first of three "Cats Cookouts" at the BankAtlantic Center. The event features players, food, and drinks, and allows fans to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season.

1996 - In Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Philadelphia Flyers, Mike Hough scores in double OT to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead in the series. Florida eliminates the Flyers two days later in Miami, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals in the franchise's third season in existence.


2009 - The Panthers announced that they are to open their 2009 Training Camp in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scota, where they will play their first pre-season game against Ottawa on Tuesday, September 15 in Halifax.

2008 - The Panthers announce that Jacques Martin has agreed to a contract extension to remain solely as the team's General Manager through the 2011-12 season.

2010 - The Panthers hire Dale Tallon as the ninth General Manager in franchise history.

2004 - Mike Keenan is named as the Panthers new General Manager, replacing Rick Dudley. Jacques Martin becomes the ninth head coach in Panthers history, replacing John Torchetti.

2002 - John Torchetti is named head coach of Florida's AHL affiliate in San Antonio.
